About the Business
Ray Tooby decorator was established in 1978 after completing my apprenticeship at Peackock decorators, and Bradford collage. After a contract to work in Poland I had saved up capital to purchase a 3 year old van and rent a garage to store all my tools and plant equipment so with my 715 construction certificate I was now self employed. Joining the British Decorating Association in 1980 provided the code of conduct and guarantee to complement my work and ethics. As my reputation and work load grew I employed apprentices and through the 80s and 90s employed up to 8 craftsmen and subcontractors working on large new housing sites, office and factories mainly in and around Calderdale, whilst always keeping my domestic customers as my personal priority. I now work as a sole trader completing domestic and commercial painting and decorating in Calderdale and surrounding areas.
